About Me

A little about who I am

Portrait of Amy McCoy

As a native Floridian, I've always felt grounded in this community. I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida before earning my Master of Social Work from the University of West Florida. Today, I provide therapy in Orlando, Florida, and offer secure online therapy to individuals throughout Florida. I was drawn to this work through both a natural desire to help others and personal experiences that deepened my passion for supporting individuals through life's challenges with compassion, hope, and genuine human connection.

I believe every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach is person-centered, meaning I strive to meet you where you are with empathy, curiosity, and respect for your unique experiences. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care, tailoring each session to your individual needs, strengths, and goals.

I work with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, emotional regulation difficulties, and the unique pressures that often come with being a high achiever. Whether you're processing past experiences, navigating a difficult season of life, or seeking personal growth, my goal is to help you build insight, strengthen practical coping skills, and develop a healthier, more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I look forward to partnering with you as you work toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.
